    Three individuals have been killed while attempting to escape from kidnappers’ den in Kogi State.

    The Senator Representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sunday Karimi, made this known in a statement on Thursday evening of January 4.

    Karimi called on the Kogi State Commissioner of Police and the Director, Department of State Services, DSS, to address insecurity situation in Isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area of the State.

    The Senator lamented the insecurity in Isanlu, stressing that, within 48 hours, six persons have been kidnapped.

    The statement which was titled: ‘Address the security situation in Isanlu and neighbouring communities’, said more than six different people have been kidnapped in the last 48 hours.

    “Three people also lost their lives in Idofin and Isanlu in an attempt to escape from the Kidnappers den.”

    Senator Karimi, however, commended the state governor’s efforts in making lives and properties safe in the state.

    He further called on the Police Commissioner and the DSS boss to rise to the occasion, by doing the needful in curbing the spate of kidnapping in Isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.

    Of the 36 states of Nigeria, Kogi is the thirteenth largest in the area and twentieth most populous with an estimated population of about 4.5  million as of 2016.
