The meeting which is a follow-up to the previous one was necessitated by growing security concerns and threats to the nation’s capital and to prevent future attacks on custodial facilities. In a statement signed by the Public Relation officer of the Nigeria Correctional Service, FCT command, Humphrey Chukwuedo, the heads of agencies vowed to pull ranks together to avert the recurrence of attacks on the Kuje custodial center or any other Custodial center in the Command. “The meeting, which was called at the instance of the Controller is geared towards evaluating the in the intelligence gathering, manpower and any other defects that may have aided the attackers during the July 5th, 2022 attack on the Kuje Custodial centre in Abuja and to proffered solutions towards forestalling any future attacks,” the statement reads. Other resolutions at the meeting are closing ranks and building a single command structure among all agencies posted as well as the introduction of joint simulation training to boost understanding among personnel on duty.
