Thete may be more to it than the ordinary as one of the witnesses lined up by the prosecutipn against the Director General of Radio Biafra and leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, refused to testify against the IPOB leadr, Monday.
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Mohammed Diri told the court that the witnesses, comprising operatives of DSS and civilians, would not appear in court unless the court makes an order shielding them from the public.
Recall that Justice James Tsoho had on February 19 ruled against masking of the witnesses or barring members of the public from the trial, saying it was not terrorist trial.
He had added that in treasonable case as that of Kanu and colleagues, there was no need to mask witnesses.
He had therefore struck out the plea of the prosecution to mask witnesses.
    Meanwhile, hearing Continues.
