Passengers on an Enugu State Transport Company Ltd, Entraco, bus, it was learned, were abducted along the Nsukka-Adani route in Enugu State on Friday, December 26.
According to social media reports, the commuters were forcibly taken into the bush by the kidnappers.
A social media influencer reported, “An Entraco mini bus fully loaded with passengers was intercepted by kidnappers along Nsukka-Adani road early hour of yesterday (Friday), and the whole passengers moved into the bush. It was the bus that took the first turn en route to Nsukka.”
The driver, identified as Ewenike Ignatius, was among those kidnapped. The influencer also noted that a medical doctor visiting from Itchi town for Christmas was abducted along the same route.
He cautioned residents to be careful and stay safe, and added that the circumstances of the incident are suspicious.
As of the time of this report, the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, has not commented on the situation.
