The group donated rice, tomato paste, groundnut oil and Maggi to about 100 women. The convener, Rashidah Adebari, said the gesture was an effort to give succour and put smiles on the faces of the less privileged. “The distribution of these food items is borne out of the need to express love to our people, particularly, widows and needy. This is part of our contributions to welfare of widows and needy in the district. It is our modest contribution to our immediate environment and a way of giving back to society. “The hallmark of the event was the mass turnout of the Arewa women community which demonstrates the love and support the community has for Mama West.” She encouraged all attendees and recipients to get their PVCs and also go out on election day to cast their votes for Dr Idiat Adebule (Mama West). Hajia Maridiyah Muna Badru also sensitised women on the need to participate in politics “Muslim women should be active partakers in today’s politics, though we may not see the reward for voting as expected in future our children and ourselves will reap the reward.” She testified that the APC Lagos West senatorial Candidate, Dr Idiat Adebule is tested, trusted and can lead aright’ ” she said.
