Davido has criticised Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah, the lawyer representing Sophia Momodu, in the custody case involving his daughter, Imade Adeleke, accusing her of acting unprofessionally by making hurtful remarks about his late son during the court session.
In a strongly worded statement shared online, the singer claimed he disgraced the lawyer during proceedings and accused the legal practitioner of incompetence.
He alleged that he had to teach the lawyer her job in court and criticized her for mentioning his son during the session.
Davido further stated that he prayed the lawyer would never experience what he and his wife had gone through, accusing her of smiling and smirking throughout the hearing.
He described her as a wicked human being, labeled her the worst lawyer ever, and insisted that he defeated her in court, adding that she was not learned.
The custody battle initially drew public attention after a lawyer, Maruf Mohammed, said on X that Davido appeared in court in Yaba, Lagos, on Thursday, February 12, and became visibly angry during cross-examination, allegedly causing tension in the courtroom.
According to accounts from the courtroom, the situation took a dramatic turn when Momodu’s lawyer questioned Davido’s ability to guarantee Imade’s safety, referencing the death of his son, Ifeanyi, in October 2022.
The remark, it was learned, angered the singer, who was said to have reacted emotionally and confronted the lawyer during the session.
