Edo gov-elect, Monday Okpebholo makes 1st appointment ahead of inauguration

    Edo State Governor-elect, Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Fred Itua as Chief Press Secretary for his forthcoming administration.

    The appointment, announced by Okpebholo’s media team in Abuja on Monday, November 11, is the first in a series of key roles to be filled ahead of the inauguration and transition from the outgoing Governor Godwin Obaseki on Tuesday, November 12.

    Itua, an experienced journalist who has worked with Leadership and The Sun newspapers, will head the governor’s media team. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, a Master’s in Media Arts from the University of Abuja, and is finalizing his PhD thesis in Development Communication at Veritas University, Abuja.

    With a strong background covering the National Assembly, migration, health, anti-corruption, and environmental issues, Itua brings valuable expertise in both national and global affairs to the role.
