The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested several youths suspected of being involved in internet fraud during a raid at the Green Legacy Hotel in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The hotel is located within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library complex.
EFCC operatives from the Lagos directorate reportedly stormed a pool party at the hotel in the early hours of Sunday, August 10.
A viral video from the scene shows partygoers running for safety amid what sounded like gunshots.
The raid led to the arrest of a number of young people and the seizure of more than 20 luxury cars and other valuable items.
This operation follows a similar raid just five days prior, where the EFCC’s Ibadan Zonal Directorate arrested 55 suspected internet fraudsters at K-Hotel in Itori, Ewekoro.
During that raid, one of the suspects was found to be in possession of two locally-made pistols.
