FG declares June 12 public holiday to mark democracy day

    The federal government has declared Monday, June 12, as public holiday, in commemoration of this year’s democracy day celebration.

    The permanent secretary of the ministry of interior, Oluwatoyin Akinlade, made this known on Thursday, June 8.

    Akinlade said that Nigeria’s democratic journey has, like in many other climes, encountered stormy and smooth sails, adding that Nigerians have remained steadfast on the tenets of democratic governance.

    She also congratulated Nigerians on the occasion and urged all citizens to support the administration in its efforts at ensuring a secured, united and prosperous nation.
