The Federal Government on Thursday declared October 15 and 16 as public holidays in commemoration of eid-el-Kabir.
The declaration was contained in an announcement from the Minister of Interior, Abba Moro on Thursday. In the statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs Fatima Bamidele, the Federal Government congratulated Muslims on the occasion and urged them to pray for the peace and unity of the nation. They were also urged to support the efforts of President Goodluck Jonathan to raise Nigeria to the next level of development.
