Gunmen have kidnapped the sister of former Minister of Power and All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Bayo Adelabu, alongside her twin sons in Ibadan.
The incident occurred on Wednesday in the Challenge area of Ibadan South-West Local Government Area.
Confirming the incident, Femi Awogboro, one of Adelabu’s media aides, said the victims were abducted in the early hours of Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
“Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, 43, was abducted at about 7:30 a.m. while taking her children to school in Ibadan. Her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were also taken by the gunmen.” He said
“The victims’ abduction was immediately reported to security agencies, who have commenced investigations and rescue operations” he added
Awogboro further said Adelabu and the family are deeply distressed but remain hopeful that security operatives will secure the safe release of the victims.
The family appealed to the public to avoid speculation and refrain from circulating unverified information that may affect ongoing security operations, while also calling for prayers and useful information to aid investigations.
Security agencies are currently making efforts to track and rescue the victims.
