Jonathan Visits Blast Scene, Says War on Terror Will Be Won

    President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday visited the scene of the bomb blast that occurred at the Nyanya Bridge. Though the Police gave the casualty figure as 124, not less than 200 people are believed to have died as a result of the explosion.

    At the scene, the President assured Nigerians that the war against terror will be won.  He went on to emphasize the need for citizens to be enlightened to be security conscious and report suspicious persons and object to security agencies.

    The President was accompanied to the scene by Senator David Mark, the Senate President and Mohammed Abubakar, the Inspector General of Police.  The Chief of Defense staff,  Air Vice Marshal Alex Badeh as well as the chiefs of Army, Navy and Airforce were on the scene before the arrival of the President.

    The CDS briefed the President About the blast and conducted an inspection of the huge crater created by the blast.
