Five men have been charged for stealing a truckload of Milo products valued at N25 million at a magistrate court in Ogun State on Monday, December 9.
The suspects are identified as 35-year-old Temidire Ramon, 26-year-old Aminu Yusuf, 35-year-old Olusola Opadare, 38-year-old Oludayo Adeleye and 51-year-old Amodu Jimoh.
The prosecutor, Inspector E.O Adaraloye, informed the court that they perpetrated the crime in Agbara, Ogun State on Tuesday, October 13, 2020.
Adaraloye stated that the defendants conspired to steal a truckload of Milo products, valued at N25 million which belonged to Nestle Company.
He further explained that the offences violated Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The defendants denied the charges and pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, O.A. Onagoruwa, granted the defendants bail in the amount of N500,000 each, with two sureties for each defendant also in the same amount.
He directed that the sureties must be employed and reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
Onagoruwa also instructed that the sureties provide proof of tax payment to the Ogun State Government (OGSG).
The case was adjourned to Thursday, December 12 for further hearing.
