Police arrests man for murder of neighbor’s wife, son over cleaning dispute in Lagos

The Lagos Police Command has arrested a man for the murder of his neighbour’s wife and son in the Lekki area of Lagos state.

The incident occurred during a dispute over the responsibility of cleaning their shared compound.

The representative of the command, Superintendent of Police (SP), Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident on Monday, September 16, said the argument escalated when he attacked his neighbor and her son with a weapon, killing them both.

“On the night of Sunday, September 15, information was received at the Elemoro Division that a man had killed his neighbour and her son during an argument,” the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) stated.

“Detectives from the Elemoro Police Station in Lekki quickly responded to the scene and arrested the suspect.

“The bodies of the neighbor and her son were recovered and taken to Epe General Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.The investigation is ongoing.

”We are deeply saddened by the unfortunate event, and we assure the public that thorough investigations are ongoing to bring justice to the victims,” Hundeyin added.
