Terrorists kill secondary school vice principal in Kebbi, abduct 25 students

    Terrorists have abducted 25 students from the Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS), Maga, on Sunday night, killing the vice-principal, Hassan Yakubu Makuku, in Danko/Wasagu local government area of Kebbi state.

    Witnesses reported that the attack occurred around 5 a.m., when the terrorists invaded the school compound without resistance while they were preparing for their morning routines.

    According to a resident, the vice-principal was shot while trying to protect the students during the attack.

    “He was shot as he tried to protect his students from being taken by the terrorists.

    “It’s a great loss for the community and the school, the resident said.

    Residents have called for urgent intervention to secure the release of the kidnapped students.

    The spokesperson for the Kebbi state police command, Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed the incident, stating that 25 students were abducted during the attack.

    The governor’s chief press secretary, Ahmed Idris, said the deputy governor is on his way to the school on behalf of the governor to know the exact situation as he is currently out of the state.
