Troops of the 233 tank battalion on Monday, February 16, arrested two Boko Haram logistics suppliers identified as Goni Abba and Ali Bukar during a snap checkpoint operation in Yobe state.
They were intercepted around 12:00 p.m. at Rabangida in the Dapchi-Geidam axis while transporting food and household supplies destined for terrorists operating in the area.
The suspects, both 30-year-old natives of Areyanari village in Yunusari local government area, were apprehended with a blue tricycle bearing registration number TMW-426WB.
Items recovered during the operation include ₦33,150 in cash, a mobile phone, and several consumables such as bags of sugar, flour, and rice, cartons of beverages, soaps, detergents, spaghetti, macaroni, cooking oil, sweets, and matches.
Following the arrest, troops conducted a sweep of the surrounding area to identify possible accomplices but made no further arrests.
The suspects and recovered items are currently in military custody for profiling and further investigation.
The military high command reiterated that ongoing operations across the north east theatre would be sustained to dismantle terrorist logistics networks and degrade their operational capabilities.
