Two Major Generals are to be Court martialed by the Nigerian Army. This came to light Thursday as a special Court was inaugurated at Army Headquarters, Mogadishu, Lagos.
Members of the panel include: Air Vice Marshal James Gbum, President of the Court, Air Vice Marshal Iya Abdullahi and Rear Admiral Peter Agba as members.
Surgeon Rear Admiral Edwin Enechukwu is a waiting member and Colonel Sa’ad Musa is Judge Advocate.
They took turns to take oaths in the presence of the accused persons and lawyers from both the prosecution and the defence teams.
The court martial was said to have been convened at the instance of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai for the trial of Major General Patrick Falola and Major General Ibrahim Sani.
The accused persons where both present in court for the inaugural of the panel that would sit in judgment on charges leveled against them.
The accused, Sani is former Chief of Army Transformation and Innovation Centre, while Falola was Commander 68 Nigeria Army Reference Hospital, Yaba, Lagos.
Their offences were not disclosed.
After the inauguration, President of the court adjourned sitting till Monday, 9 May.
