We export pharmaceuticals, whiskey to Nigeria in exchange for crude oil, skilled human resources – Former UK prime minister reveal

Former United Kingdom (UK) prime minister Boris Johnson, has hailed as a strong ally in a solid bilateral relationship with the UK, emphasizing the strong trade relationship in which the UK exports pharmaceuticals and large volumes of whiskey to Nigeria in exchange for crude oil, gas, and the country’s skilled human resources.

Speaking on Thursday, December 4, at the Imo economic summit, Johnson said that the UK is grateful to Nigeria for its support.

“I’m very proud of what we export to Nigeria. We send you pharmaceuticals, bankers, services of all kinds and huge quantities of whiskey,” Johnson said.

“And in return, you send us oil, gas, Nollywood movies, brilliant doctors, nurses, tech geniuses. We are very, very grateful.”

The Imo economic summit, a two-day event, started on Thursday, December 4 and will end on Friday, December 5.

The summit, held at Concorde Boulevard, opposite Concorde Hotel, Owerri, Imo state, attracted dignitaries across sectors to the state.
