Court Orders former ADC to Jonathan Released

Aide-de-Camp to former President Goodluck Jonathan Col. Ojogbane Adegbe has breathed in air of freedom.
A Federal High Court in Abuja, Tuesday ordered the former ADC be granted bail on liberal terms.
Justice Yusuf Halilu ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Nigerian Army to release Col. Adegbe pending his arraignment before a competent court.
The judge held that Adegbe’s continued detention is unconstitutional as it violates Section 35 of the 1999 Constitution.
Col. Adegbe was detained after he appeared at the instance of the Army, who are probing the activities of the last administration as it relates to the alleged diversion of funds for arms purchase through the office of the former National Security Adviser (NSA), retired Col. Sambo Dasuki.
Adegbe was arrested on February 12, and has since been detained without bringing him to trial.
He had approached the court for the enforcement of his fundamental rights.
