Iyabo Ojo threatens Baba Ijesha with legal action for claiming he once babysat her children

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, on Sunday, March 22, threatened to take legal action against Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, for claiming he once babysat her children.

In a post shared on her instagram story, she refuted claims made by Baba Ijesha that she had once trusted him with her children.

She warned the actor to desist from mentioning her children publicly, saying any further references would prompt her to take legal action.

“At my former business place in Ilupeju, I had multiple staff, including stylists, sales representatives, and apprentices, so it is unlikely I would be the one running errands.

“Take this as a notice to desist from using my children as your cheap bait. It won’t fly.

“Stop mentioning their names, else I will direct my counsel to serve you appropriate papers,” she said.

The actress stressed that while Baba Ijesha was once a senior colleague, their relationship never extended to the level of personal trust he described.

She further urged the actor to show remorse for his 2021 conviction involving a minor, rather than attempting to distort the facts of the case.

“That 14-year-old girl was a minor, and sexual assault is never okay.

”It is a crime. You should show some remorse,” she said.

Baba Ijesha was arraigned before a Lagos state high court in June 2021 on multiple charges, including indecent treatment and sexual assault of a child.

He was convicted in July 2022 and sentenced to five years for sexual assault and an additional three years for indecent treatment, with the sentences running concurrently.

Charges dating back to 2013-2014 were later dropped on appeal in June 2024, but his 2021 conviction remained unchanged.

Following his release in November 2025, Baba Ijesha has maintained his innocence and publicly defended himself.

He also released a song titled Eniwaye Daran, where he claimed he was set up by comedienne Damilola Adekoya, also known as Princess.

Iyabo, however, emphasized that the court’s decision stands and urged him not to involve her children in his public statements.
